Why Jon Shibley? There's so many reasons it's hard to know where to start. Most of you may not have any idea who Jon Shibley is; for those who do, though, you know his trademark radio ads as a refreshing break from the usual crap that fills the radio airwaves. It may be hard to win those of you over who have never heard of him, but let's start with the basics. He is a successful businessman, building Lenox Financial, his mortgage company, into a national powerhouse. It began as a one man operation. |
Now Lenox Financial has 210 employees and writes $4 billion a year in loans. Compare this self-made success with some of the leaches, silver spooners, and inheritance millionaires inhabiting the halls of power in D.C., and you quickly come to the realization that there is no reason Jon Shibley couldn't be president. George W. Bush has had less business success than Mr. Shibley. Next, listen to the ad that Jon placed on the radio following Katrina. Here is a man who touted "eating bologna sandwiches and sending the money to the Red Cross" as a way to help Katrina victims. Rather than simply give the Red Cross money, Mr. Shibley bought radio time to convince you to give money. This was probably a more effective way to get help to the people that needed it. And it showed that he, "as a man walking this Earth", really felt for the families and people whose lives were devastated by Katrina. Meanwhile, our current "President" did a 30,000 foot flyover to see the damage. What a joke.
